The south coast trail – Sydkustleden runs along the very south of Sweden, also known as the “Swedish Riviera”. It starts in the charming village of Simrishamn in the east, and continues along the nice south coast to Skanör/ Falsterbo, then turns up along the west coast and finishes in Helsingborg.
You’ll ride through fantastic coastal nature. You can sunbathe on some of Sweden’s most beautiful beaches, visit small villages and charming cities, enjoy dinner at local inns, visit famous bird watching spots, and much more.
Most of Sydkustleden consists of paved road, but about 5-10% of the trail is on gravel. The majority (65%) of the trails has a dedicated bicycle lane, the rest is on minor roads.
You can choose to ride the entire Sydkustleden in three different itineraries.
8 days/ 7 nights (Easy version)
7 days/ 6 nights (Easy to moderate)
6 days/ 5 nights (Moderate)
Sydkustleden is also connected with Kattegattleden – Sweden’s first national bicycle route – that runs along the west coast between Helsingborg in the south to Gothenburg further north. So if you want to, it is possible to do both Sydkustleden and Kattegattleden in one longer trip.
