What to bring with you

With the right equipment you get a more enjoyable trip. We recommend clothing in wool or synthetic, which keeps you drier than cotton, and better protects against cold and abrasions. Follow the weather forecast to not get any surprises, the weather conditions in Sweden may change quickly. Note that the list below is just an advise, you know best what’s right for you.

Gear list for walking

  • Hiking boots
  • Stockings in synthetic or wool
  • Breathable sweater
  • Warm sweater, preferably fleece for quick dry
  • Rain and wind protection clothes
  • Sun hat or cap
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • A small backpack, preferably with rain covers
  • Water bottle
  • Walking poles can be included if you usually use them. (Make sure they are of the three-part variant so that they can be packed in the luggage)

Gear list for cycling

  • Bicycle helmet if prefer your own.
  • Cycling pants with seat inserts, as well as a cycling jersey or a sweater in functional material
  • Cycling gloves
  • Warm sweater, preferably fleece for quick dry
  • Rain and wind jacket
  • Sunglasses
  • Small backpack
  • Comfortable sports shoes. You don’t need any special bike shoes
  • You do not need to bring your own pedals and saddle, but in some cases you can mount your own on our bikes.

And some general advises….

  • Don’t forget bathing suits, patches, mittens, thermos and sunscreen.
  • In Sweden, credits card are widely accepted, you only need a very limited amount of cash, if any at all.
  • We recommend that you pack the most important things in your day pack: passports, money, tickets, insurance documents, any medicines, and extra clothing.
  • If you arrive to Sweden by flight: we advise you to pack the most essential in you hand luggage. Then, in the event of delayed luggage, you may still be able start your hiking/cycling trip.
